EdgeTX and OpenTX fully supported on the RadioMaster TX16S Mark II
Our transmitter fully supports OpenTX and EdgeTX, the amazing opensource software that runs on the transmitter and make all the magic happen.
By default we supply the RadioMaster TX16S Mark II with EdgeTX out of the factory. Touch screen support is fully enabled, so you can navigate through all menus on your transmitter by using the touchscreen.
For those that prefer OpenTX, they can simply flash the transmitter with the great OpenTX software by using the OpenTX companion software or by using bootloader flashing.
Available in 4-IN-1 and ELRS version
The RadioMaster TX16S Mark II is available in two RF versions:
- With an internal 4-IN-1 Multi Module
- With an internal ELRS module
The internal module is responsible for the communication with your receiver.
With the 4-IN-1 Multi Module, you can communicate with all kinds of receiver protocols. The 4-IN-1 multi module is powered by the Multi-Module opensource firmware. You can use all kinds of receiver protocols – like FrSky, Futaba, HoTT, etc – when using the 4-IN-1 Multi-Module. Find the complete supported list here.
With the internal ELRS module, you can only bind to ELRS based receivers. ELRS is a new and opensource RF protocol. You can read all about ELRS on the website of the ELRS project.
If you can’t decide what to buy, here are some tips for you to choose between the 4in1 or ELRS version, reviews by OscarLiang
“If you can’t decide between ELRS and 4in1, I’d probably go for the ELRS version. It’s going to be the major RC protocol in the near future as it’s so powerful and affordable, with a wide range of tiny and inexpensive ELRS receivers available.
One reason to get the 4in1 is if you only want to use other protocols such as Frsky D8/D16, but these are kind of obsolete and slowly phasing out. Or if you are buying an external ELRS module for the radio, then it also makes sense to get the 4in1 as you don’t want to have another ELRS module onboard doing nothing. An external ELRS module might have the advantage of higher maximum output power of up to 1W. But honestly the internal module’s 250mW is plenty for FPV pilots, giving you miles of range in ideal conditions. ”
RadioMaster TX16S Mark II: V4.0 Hall gimbals or AG01 Gimbals
V4.0 Hall Gimbals
The V4.0 Hall Gimbals are great gimbals featuring the same chipset as the AG01 Gimbals. Improvements over the V3.0 ones are even more precise center point positioning and less temperature drift.
The gimbals can be easily adjusted from the outside without the need to disassemble the case of the transmitter.
The V4.0 Hall Gimbals are feeling great and features a alumnium cnc machined facia. Lots of other parts are plastic to keep costs down.
Despite it’s price, they are simply awesome and are a good choice for every pilot.
Best choice for most pilots!
